8 Free or Affordable Pools in Savannah
Every year, right about this time, everyone in Savannah starts asking the same question: where (and what) is the best pool to join? We’ve done the leg work on rounding up the details and exploring the different watering holes littered across the city. All you need to do is grab your sunscreen, floaties, and favorite drinks to enjoy your fun in the sun!
Magnolia Hill, Fairway Oaks, & Bacon Park Pool

This neighborhood pool is as kid-friendly as it gets! Tucked within the neighborhood of Bacon Park, it sits on a corner lot in the middle of the Bacon Park neighborhood. Right next to the pool is a large playground and an open field. Moms with babies and toddlers can cool off in the adjacent baby pool as well.
For those who prefer transportation by bike, this pool might be the best choice for you. It’s located smack dab in the middle of the Truman Linear Trail.

Kensington Park Pool
101 Althea Court
Kensington Park’s Pool sits in the shaded, leafy groves of one of Savannah’s preferred neighborhoods. Technically the Kensington Park neighborhood is located within southside Savannah, as it sits just south of DeRenne Ave, but it’s pretty central to most areas of Savannah and is not far from the Truman Parkway. A small diving board and water cannons make this pool a must-see for any weary-worn person seeking relief from the heat. Keep in mind: this pool does require a membership to get in.
The pool offers a number of different membership levels ranging from a Senior Membership (anyone over 55) at $135 per year to a Family Membership (Two adults and all children, 21 and under living in household) at $350 per year. There is even a weekly grandparent membership level at $50/week.

Wilmington Park Pool

Sure, you’re close to the beach if you’re on Wilmington Island. But one can never beat the convenience of a good, cool pool. The Wilmington Park Pool is a little slice of southern comfort, situated only minutes from the Wilmington River and Half Moon Creek on either side. A playground, park, tennis courts, and more fill up the space on the tip of the island. The pool area features a kiddy pool, pavilion, snack bar, and large deck area.
They also host Friday night movie nights and pool parties!

Isle of Hope Pool
407 Parkersburg Road
The Isle of Hope pool is perfect for those looking to make a quick escape from the downtown/midtown area. This is a members-only pool, but the amenities are to die for. We’re talking fitness classes, outdoor pavilion, free swim lessons, the list goes on and on. There’s a 10-foot diving pool and a medium 5-foot pool. This one here is a Savannah staple, as it’s been around since the 1960’s.

Mayfair Pool
1460 Dale Drive
This is one of our favorites. Now, while it is a private pool, it’s also a wonderful hangout spot for locals. It’s not surprising to find a food truck in the area serving delicious treats during the warm summer evenings. The pool is 12 feet deep, featuring two diving boards and a small slide. Located near a small park, this is sure to be a favorite for the summer.

Daffin Park Pool (Parkside Neighborhood)
1301 E. Victory Drive
Daffin Park Pool is a Savannah OG space. This is an outdoor public pool managed by the City of Savannah, and it’s one of the best spots in the city. This is a 12-foot deep pool situated in the heart of Daffin Park. This pool is frequently used throughout the summer, so there’s no telling what friends you can expect to meet!

The Jewish Educational Alliance

Whether you seek leisurely relaxation, vigorous exercise, or quality time with loved ones, the Jewish Educational Alliance pool promises an unforgettable aquatic experience. While the outdoor pool undergoes an exciting transformation, fear not, for the indoor pool eagerly awaits your arrival. Perfect for swimming laps and cooling off in the summer hear. The redesigned outdoor pool will be finished early in summer 2023.
Please note that the indoor pool is closed for maintenance from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm, Monday through Friday. However, the rest of the day is yours to embrace the refreshing waters of the JEA pool!
You will need a membership to partake in the summer fun at JEA, individual passes are only $61 a month (with a $75 joiner’s fee) but they have an excellent family monthly rate for $82. Learn more about membership here.

Chatham County Aquatic Center

The Chatham County Aquatic Center has been a community staple for the hot Savannah summer months for the last 25 years. You will find that there is a place for everyone in your family and friend group to enjoy a dip, whether you are ready to race in the 50-meter lap pool or relax and let the kids splash around in the 25-yard recreational pool! Not to mention the center is temperature-controlled and recently updated, bringing you a state-of-the-art experience.
There are several options for you and your family to enjoy the Chatham County Aquatic Center, as they offer daily rates ($5 per person), memberships ($36 per month), or a punch card (20 swims for $84). Learn more about their membership options and details here.
