Neighborhood Overview

One of the city’s coziest, friendliest, and most laid-back places to call home lies just a few miles south of Savannah’s lively Downtown area. Welcome to Parkside, the kind of neighborhood where it’s common to ask for a cup of sugar or a helping hand from a nextdoor neighbor. The Parkside Neighborhood Association notes its closeness and sense of community with its annual events: a Halloween celebration with a haunted house built by residents, Thanksgiving in the Street with a neighborhood-wide potluck, and a fall Treasure Day Yard Sale. The houses in this neighborhood are mostly quaint Craftsman-Bugalow-style and feature solid architectural design.  As far as location, we love that we’re only a 5 to 10-minute drive from the Truman Parkway, multiple grocery stores, shopping, and Downtown Savannah.

This is also one of our most active neighborhoods. Dog lovers, rollerbladers, and runners of all ages are frequently seen outside, enjoying all that the nearby Daffin Park has to offer. The historic park features a public swimming pool, tennis courts, a rubberized running track, soccer fields, playgrounds, the expansive Herty Pines Dog Park, and more. Perhaps our favorite part of living in this neck of Savannah is that Parkside is home to the world-renowned Savannah Bananas baseball team. Grayson Stadium sits on the east end of Daffin Park. During the summer, neighborhood residents can walk to games and catch special fireworks shows displayed at the stadium. We love getting active and connecting with our community here. When you’re ready, grab a seat on the front porch and join us.
