On the south end of West Savannah rests the endearing “bedroom community” of Georgetown. We enjoy living in this area of Savannah for its small-town feel with big-city possibilities. Like Berwick Plantation and Southbridge, Georgetown is made up of multiple neighborhoods. We have our pick of housing here with 20 subdivisions including single-family homes and quality apartment complexes. Towards the southernmost end of the community lies the Ogeechee River, where sprawling, marshfront mansions overlook the waterway. While most of the area was developed in the 1970s and 1980s, the area does include some newer builds. The architectural styles in Georgetown include Cape Code, Federal Colonial, Greek Revival, and Ranch-style homes.

With impressive houses, quiet streets, and lush landscapes, Georgetown is great for families. Amenities include two community pools, a fitness center, tennis courts, and a playground. The Georgetown Community Association Service keeps a calendar with seasonal events like Breakfast with Santa, an Easter Egg Hunt, Spring/Fall Yard Sales, and a Summerfest. The nearby L Scott Stell Park and Coastal Botanical Gardens are great for nature lovers, and the area continues to grow with new restaurants and shops. Another plus is that there are main highways on the community’s perimeter, and Interstate 95 is only a 10 minutes car ride to the west. With affordable living, Georgetown is a commuter’s haven!
