Make sure to check out our Play page for information about things to do, see and experience in Savannah, Georgia.
It’s the time of year for holiday photos and wish lists. In the spirit of lists, we made our own of all the places to take photos with Santa in Savannah. From establishments offering sessions all season long to pop-up events and special occasions, here are all the places that offer an opportunity to sit with jolly old St. Nick.
The Oglethorpe Mall
The holidays in Savannah wouldn’t be the same without a trip or two to Southside Savannah’s Oglethorpe Mall. Beyond holiday shopping, Savannah’s only indoor mall offers the best ways to sit with Santa from November 24th to December 24th, 2023. The Oglethorpe Mall offers various photo packages, including pet pictures and a Santa Cares Day, which offers a sensory-friendly visit with Santa.
The Plant Riverside District (+ meet Mrs. Claus)
The ornately decorated Plant Riverside District in the Historic District will host Santa and Mrs. Claus all season long. Starting November 24th to December 24th, Santa and his better half will be available for photos. Check the Plant Riverside District holiday calendar for the days and times Santa will be available and all of the district’s special holiday activities. See times!
Peregrin (+ meet Santa’s reindeer)
It’s always exciting to see Santa, but how about his reindeer, too? Peregrin in the Historic District of downtown Savannah welcomes Santa AND two of his real, live reindeer on the roof of Perry Lane Hotel each year. Visitors can sit on Santa’s lap and hop in his sleigh for photos with Dasher and Dancer. This rooftop bar turns family-friendly from 12 pm – 2 pm on December 17th, with complimentary hot cocoa and cookies for the kiddos while they wait to see Santa. Starting at 5 pm, Perry Lane turns back into an “adult haven” with cocktails, fire pits, and live music. Santa will stick around until 7 pm before he heads back to the North Pole.
Hop on the ferry and head across the Savannah River for a special occasion at The Westin Savannah. The hotel is partnering with the Humane Society for Greater Savannah to host the non-profit’s annual Santa Paws event. Santa will be taking photos with pets, kids, or both. Photos cost $25, and 100% of the proceeds go to the Humane Society for Greater Savannah.
Santa takes time away from his workshop in December to stop by Cohen’s Retreat in Southside for brunch. Anticipating young ones can snap their photos with Santa after grabbing a bite to eat. A ticket package, including brunch at Cohen’s, must be purchased to attend. Sessions are happening on December 9th and 10th from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm daily.
Thunderbolt’s Christmas on the Bluff
For a true coastal Christmas, head to the town of Thunderbolt’s Christmas on the Bluff on December 9, 2023 from 4 pm – 7 pm. In addition to cookie and ornament decorating, there will be live entertainment, a vendor’s village, food trucks, and the town’s Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony. Santa, of course, will be in Thunderbolt for photo opportunities!
Keller’s Flea Market
Visiting the ‘The Flea’ makes you a true local, and there is no better time to do so than during the holidays. For over 30+ years, Keller’s Flea Market in West Savannah has been the area’s largest flea market, with over 400 retail spaces, concession stands, ATM machines, and seasonal happenings. It’s the perfect place to shop local, shop small, and find some truly vintage gems. What makes Keller’s Flea Market so unique during the holidays are the beautifully decorated booths and that Santa always comes to visit. This year he is stopping by for photos on December 23, 2023, from 10 am – 2 pm.
Ghost Pirates Holiday Game
We can’t think of anything more wintery than cheering on our favorite hockey team with a beer to warm the insides. We suggest heading to the Canal District in West Savannah, where the Enmarket Arena will host Santa during a special December 21st Ghost Pirates hockey game. Tickets are $35 and include tickets to the game.
